She couldn’t imagine a life as grand

As full of joy

As exciting 

Even with the lack of happenings

The pressure that weighs on you

Like a ton of bricks

Digging into your shoulders

This is a poem I wrote when I was very single! I felt in my heart discouragement trying to creep into my heart and I decided not to allow it. I have a book about love and relationships that I’ve been sitting on for almost 4 years now. I am looking forward to releasing it next year (Lord Willing), but in the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this snippet.

She became a vault

Storing the wealth of her inside 

Not wanting anyone else to even get a glimpse of all she was called to be 

is there space for me

will the world wait to see

am i wasting my life

waiting for everything to be right

I wrote this poem as a reminder to myself to slow down and focus on what truly matters.

The year hasn’t officially started and I already felt the first wave of being overwhelmed. The feelings can come, but I don’t want them to stay. This poem reminds me to keep the right perspective as I enter a new year and new season.
