4am thoughts: launching my art shop

Art

It is 4:45am and I’m on the cusp of launching my art shop on Etsy. This feeling is unsettling because of the unknown. I have more questions than answers at this point. Am I doing the right thing? Is now the time? Will it be received well? Will my community grow? Do I really want to share pieces of me publicly? All of these questions are swirling around in my brain. In addition to those questions, I am fighting the urge to compare my approach to this art shop to how others did theirs. For clarification: not comparing my art, just the execution of sharing and selling it.

I’m up praying about the next steps and honestly the only answer I have is to just do it. Life is about the journey right? Often, I’m so fixated on the destination, that I miss the wild flowers on the side of the road. Tunnel vision is great at times, but right now in this moment it just shows me just how far away I am.

Today, right now – I am going to CHOOSE to admire the wild flowers of this art shop journey. I am giving my ambitious heart permission to go with the flow. There’s been so much beauty in curating pieces without limits. As my art shop grows, I want to keep my love for creating without the interference of having to “prove” or “please” anyone. I want to continue making art that speaks to me in hopes that it will speak to others as well.

Now that I’ve freed the weight off my chest, I guess I can cozy back to sleep. Thank you for journeying with me. Stay tuned – I plan to officially release my art shop soon and I want you to be among the first to see it!

Also, I started a new instagram account to share my artwork, poetry, and affirmations. I would love for you to follow me: @bybrianaariel

Creatively yours,

Briana Ariel
