Every year I try to work on a different medium of art. As a child I had endless amounts of time to create using different mediums every day. However, those days are behind me and with limited time, I have to narrow my focus in order to get better. Last year through a series of events I stumbled upon digital illustrations. To be honest, the first couple of goes were not too promising. Thankfully, my husband Stephen (who is an amazing artist) encouraged me to keep going. A few months later I was knee deep into a project that I knew I would love forever.
My first illustrated children’s book was written for my beautiful daughter Elise. I titled it, “I Am Elise.” The text of the children’s book contains affirmations that I want Elise to get into her spirit at a young age. The illustrations are vibrant and bold just like my daughter. I use this color scheme to help Elise recognize colors. When we flip through the pages of the book together my heart is overjoyed because I know this book is blessing both her and I. This book reminds me that truly anything is possible!
I am excited to share some of the images from “I Am Elise” with you.
