Wild Prayers

A simple prayer can transcend generations! Without even an ounce of doubt I believe the prayers my Grandma Annabelle prayed over me are coming to pass. I am blessed with the opportunity to pray for and with my daughter, Elise daily. Hearing her pray makes my heart burst into tears because I know her very life is a miraculous act of God. I would take a wild guess and say My Grandma Annabelle prayed over her too!

I remember as a child going to the mountains to visit my Grandma Annabelle. She always had her infamous rolls ready and more food cooking on the stove. The moment we walked through the door she would immediately thank God for our safe arrival. What I remember most is her tiny little bedroom, lined with brick, a bottle of anointing oil by hear vanity and an old radio always playing sermons. Occasionally, I would nestle myself in her tiny little bed with her. She modeled the verse, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). I didn’t understand it all at the time, but those moments I spent with my grandma were not just for giggles and kicks. They were significant moments where she was pouring scripture and prayer over me constantly. She was planting seeds that I have yet to fully see developed. Grandma Anabelle was strategic in her covering of me. That powerful overwhelming love still flows even as she dwells in heaven.

I want to pray some WILD PRAYERS! Prayers that will transcend generations. I have been guilty of praying safe prayers, nothing that drops a lump in my stomach type of prayers. My Grandma’s prayers were WILD! She was praying for stuff she knew she would probably never see on this side of heaven and it didn’t change the tenacity of her pursuit. That’s wild! I want that –I need that!

Starting today I am going to start praying some WILD PRAYERS! I hope you join me.
