I’ve officially fallen in love with summers! I would have never thought that a fall loving person like me would ever utter those words, but today I did. This summer has been full of many days with sand between my toes and salt water on my skin. My summers are usually filled with photography work. Almost every weekend I am typically headed to a wedding, capturing an engagement shoot, or last year I stayed in the studio doing editorial work. This year was different, it was pure goodness!
I exercised the power of NO! Yea I still had some work trips, but I started January with intentionality. I had a real come to Jesus talk with my Aunt Mae back in January about my schedule. My close friends know that I wear many hats and my free time can almost be nonexistent because of this. My friends will tell me to chill, don’t work as much, take time for you (which I do), but none have hit me in the gut as much as my Aunt Mae’s did. I gave her my word that I would do better and my most enjoyable summer to date is a reflection of her wisdom.
As the summer comes to a close I hope you take time to soak in the present, fully embracing all that you are and are becoming!
